Apple Oatmeal Bowl Recipe

Your new favourite breakfast.

We just can't get enough of oats around here, can you blame us? Here is another one of our best-loved oatmeal combinations and it's so good that it could almost pass as a dessert.

The key to perfecting your bowl lies in the toppings, and this recipe calls for flaked almonds and cacao nibs for that extra bit of crunch.

1/2 cup oats

1 cup water

1 chopped apple

1/2 tsp sliced almonds

1/2 tsp cacao nibs

Maple syrup to finish

Optional: 1/2tsp maca powder

Method 1. Toast the oats in a dry saucepan on a low heat, stirring continuously. They should turn a little golden brown and release a popcorn-like aroma. 2. Add the water, bring to the boil and then simmer on a low heat. 3. Add the maca powder and continue stirring. 4. Once the oats have absorbed the water and thickened in texture, take off the heat and transfer to your bowl. 5. Top with the chopped apple, sliced almonds and cacao nibs. Finish with a drizzle of maple syrup.
