A TikTok recipe that has taken over the internet.
Dalgona coffee - also referred to as 'TikTok coffee' - has been making waves in the social media world. The trending Korean drink is typically enjoyed iced, and involves pouring a whipped coffee mixture over milk to create a very Instagram-worthy beverage.
A pretty basic recipe aside from the 20 minutes of hand whipping required - but hey, gives us something to do during lockdown? Or of course, you could opt for an electric whisk and save yourself the arm workout.
2 tbsp instant coffee
2 tbsp sugar (we opt for coconut sugar)
2 tbsp hot water
1 cup of non-dairy milk
Add the coffee, sugar and hot water into a bowl. Whisk until the mixture thickens and becomes caramel-like in colour. It should form soft peaks.
Add the ice and milk into a cup and spoon the whipped coffee mixture on top.
(If you don't enjoy a strong coffee, use 1-2tsp of the mix and save the rest in an air-tight container in the fridge).
Stir and enjoy.
