Smoothies don't have to be all about spinach and kale - this raw cacao shake is the perfect example. A delicious breakfast that's crammed with nutrients without a single leaf in sight.
This is a plant-based recipe with added nut butter and flaxseeds to boost the protein, fibre and omega-3 content. We've also sprinkled in a little ashwagandha for additional benefits, which you can read about here.
Let's get blending shall we?
1 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tsp crunchy almond butter
1 tbsp flaxseeds
1/4 tsp ashwagandha
Plenty of ice
Splash of oat milk
Cacao nibs for topping
Starting with a handful of ice cubes and a little milk, blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Continue slowly adding liquids and blend until it reaches your desired consistency. Transfer to a glass and top with cacao nibs to finish.
