Matcha is well recognised for it's various health benefits and has become increasingly popular within the wellness world. But does it taste as green as it looks?
Well, the answer is in how you make it. We would recommend starting with a smaller amount of matcha and opting for a high quality ceremonial grade. This type will have a smooth, slightly sweet and non-bitter taste versus the lower grade alternatives. You can also experiment with various add-ins to perfect your own matcha latte recipe.
Here is how we make it.
1/2 tsp matcha powder
1 cup plant milk
Optional: cinnamon, honey/maple syrup
Add the matcha powder to your glass with a little cold water. Whisk until fully dissolved. You may also use a blender for this step.
Top up the glass with heated milk for a hot latte, or ice and cold milk for an iced latte.
Stir well to combine, adding in any optional extras.
