There has been a lot going on in the world recently and it can certainly feel overwhelming. Sometimes you just need a moment for yourself to breathe and take care of your mental health. Today we'll be sharing some of our go-to self care activities to ease stress-levels during challenging times.
Indulge in a Long Bath
A luxurious escape in your very own home. Light some candles and run yourself an indulgent epsom salt bath to unwind and release any tension. Calm the mind and savour a moment of quiet, or sit back and enjoy a playlist of your favourite shows - whichever brings you the most joy. We have written a post on creating the ultimate bath routine here.
Try a Guided Mediation
Guided mediations can truly transform your energy. It may sound intimidating at first, but we promise that it will leave you feeling so much lighter. Try an app such as Headspace to get started, or have a quick browse on YouTube to find a meditation that aligns with you. It can be as short as 5 minutes if that's all you have.
Get Your Body Moving
We all know that exercising boosts endorphins. Even 15 minutes of movement or a brisk walk in fresh air will make the world of a difference. For some home workout inspiration, check out our top-rated videos here.
Take some time to give your skin a little TLC. Try a facial massage, ice roll to de-puff and calm the skin, or apply a nourishing face mask. If you fancy attempting a DIY, there are plenty of skin-loving ingredients right in your kitchen - avocados, oats, honey and yoghurt can all work wonders on the skin.
Cooking and baking can be extremely therapeutic. It's the perfect excuse to disconnect from technology and engage in something that requires your full attention and creativity. We have plenty of recipes to get you going here.
Reach out to friends and family, schedule face times and set up virtual dates if you can't see each other at this time. Catch up on life, plan home workouts for each other, start new podcasts together - small connections can go a long way.
Take care of yourself.
