As you've likely heard, yoga is an excellent way to improve both physical and mental wellbeing. It's often thought that yoga is only for the super flexible or spiritual types, but in reality that couldn't be further from the truth.
There really is a yoga class out there for anyone and everyone, regardless of your physical abilities or workout preferences. In the post we'll be highlighting 3 very different yoga practices for 3 different personality types.
Keep reading to see which one most aligns with you.
This type of yoga is perhaps one of the most popular styles of yoga. It involves a fluid sequence of movements linked to the breath, and can often be fairly physically intensive. If you're a high-energy individual that loves a challenge, this type of workout might be for you.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced meditative practice. It focuses on strengthening and sculpting the body by holding poses for at least 3-5 minutes, sometimes including the use of props. Choose this type of practice if you prefer gentle movements that centre on mindfulness.
Combing acrobatics and yoga, acro yoga involves working with a partner to develop strength, balance and trust. You've most likely seen images of this kind of practice where one individual (the base) is lifting another (the flyer) off the ground. For playful and adventurous personality types who enjoy working with others, acro yoga would be your match.
It's also worth noting that teaching practices will vary based on the teacher and/or yoga studio. For this reason, it might be a case of trial and error before finding a class that works best for you.
Have you tried any of the above? Which yoga practice do you enjoy the most?
